The Pregnancy
Our pregnancy was very smooth. From the get-go, Jayden was very considerate to his parents and
especially thoughtful towards his mom. Juhee had no morning sickness during the entire pregnancy. In
fact, she had a healthy appetite for the most part and gorged on various nutritious foods such as chicken,
fat-free milk, and salad. The last trimester was a little rough only because of Jayden's growing weight and
increasingly humid summer afternoons, but all in all, we had an enjoyable pregnancy.
The Labor
Juhee's water broke around 3:00 AM Thursday August 18. To prevent possible infection, she headed to the
hospital. After a few hours of waiting and examinations, the hospital confirmed the breakage and Juhee
was admitted in the afternoon. Upon hearing this news, Jensen met up with Juhee and her mom at the
hospital around 5:45 PM. The labor began roughly 12 hours later around 6:00 AM Friday August 19. Then
Juhee's contractions became more regular around 9:00 AM and by 12:30 PM, Juhee was in a lot of pain. An
epidural and 3 hours later, Juhee was ready to push. After an hour of valiant pushing, our bundle of joy was
born at 4:33 PM EST.
The Name
Juhee chose Jayden as the baby's first name because we have been waiting to hear the good news from
above for a long time. Jensen chose Sunwoo as the baby's middle name based on the recommendation
of his parents. It means a house of holy person. BTW, Jayden also has a nickname of Guma, which
coupled with Jensen's last name of Ko means "sweet potato" in Korean.
